Colegiul Tehnic ”Edmond Nicolau” was founded in 1972 as "Professional School Group, of the Enterprise for Devices, Dies, Molds And Cutting Tools, Focșani".  Initially, there were only two classes of vocational school, technical profile – mechanics. One of the aims of building of the school was to provide an alternative to agriculture, the main occupation of the population in the '70s, in this area.

With continuous development, in 2014 Technical College "Edmond Nicolau" Focsani became the second school in the county, as the number of students, with more than 1,000 students.

Over the years, the school has grown, to provide skilled labor needed for the entire industrial zone of the city, which made it necessary to increase and diversify the tuition plan and implicitly applying appropriate policies and strategies. Since its establishment until now the school has offered various forms of education. Training is done for domains as: mechanical, electro-mechanical, electrical, electronics, ICT, informatics.

The European dimension of the school is determined by the participation, over the years, of European-funded projects, Comenius, eTwinning, or, since 2014, Erasmus + projects.

Within our Erasmus + projects, our school has participated in both KA1 and KA2 projects. The KA1 projects were school education projects, where our teachers increased the level of competence in the major areas of school interest or projects for pupils, youth exchanges or youth workers.

We love to share our experience with others, that is why we are not only participants to courses for professional development, but also we received representatives from others outlandish schools, for sharing our know-how to them.

Erasmus + Strategic Partnership projects in which school is involved are equally addressed to teachers and students.
